Hi, I’m Simone Rivers—an avid reader, traveler, and lifelong creative. I’ve visited 43 states so far, and I’m determined to visit all 50 before exploring more adventures abroad. Whether I’m curled up with a romance, young adult, mystery, or science fiction novel, or journaling my thoughts after a busy day, I love finding ways to slow down and recharge. Coloring and journaling have been part of my life since I was a kid. They’ve always been my go-to for relaxation, a little fun, and the joy of seeing something beautiful come together. Now, I use that same passion to create books that elevate and celebrate beautiful Black women, sharing their strength, grace, and joy through every page. As a first-grade teacher and a proud Teacher of the Year recipient, I know the importance of creativity and representation in learning and self-expression. My work in the classroom inspires my commitment to creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and celebrated. These same values guide me in creating my books, making them a joyful outlet for readers and colorists alike. When I’m not working on my books or teaching, you’ll find me traveling to new places, spending time with loved ones, or enjoying the little moments that make life special.
