Barbara McGavin has been practicing Focusing since 1983 and is the co-creator (with Ann Weiser Cornell) of Inner Relationship Focusing and Untangling®. Since 1994, they have been exploring how IRF can create the conditions where profound transformations of what is impossibly stuck occur spontaneously. Besides her work with Ann, she has developed a Focusing-based creativity practice called From Spark to Beacon. She has also created a decision-making process (Spectrum Decision-making) which seeks to generate consensus through actively valuing conflicting viewpoints. Barbara was one of the founders of The British Focusing Network (BFN) and The British Focusing Teachers’ Association (BFTA) in the 1980s and 90s. She is also an Accrediting Mentor for the British Focusing Association (formerly BFTA) as well as a Certifying Coordinator for the International Focusing Institute.
