Daniel Covarrubias is the Director of the Texas Center for Border Economic and Enterprise Development at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). With a Ph.D. in Business Competitiveness and Economic Development, he is an international expert in Logistechs, innovation, and cross-border trade and transportation. Covarrubias' research focuses on cross-border regional development, trade and transportation, regional innovation systems, and Logistechs, representing the impact of exponential technologies on logistics.
As a member of various committees and working groups, including the Standing Committee on International Trade and Transportation of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Transportation Research Board (TRB), Covarrubias actively helps to shape the future of cross-border trade. He frequently shares his expertise through media appearances, conference presentations, and opinion pieces in national media outlets on both sides of the border.
