Shirley Waisman

I am a freelance illustrator with over 90 published picture books.

I have illustrated over 40 traditionally published picture books, several of them with US publishers.

I hold a BA in Art and Education, as well as an MA in Education of the Arts.

Early in my career, I was honored with a two-year research scholarship from Kyushu University, Japan, to explore Japanese children's book illustration.

I serve as the Illustrator Coordinator for my local chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).

I’m currently developing my own stories as a writer and illustrator.

This summer, my first book, Good Old Days Grandpa, which I both wrote and illustrated, was published by 'Tal May Publishing'.
