Hi, I’m Julia Smith, and my passion for cooking began as a child, watching my mother and grandmother prepare meals for our family. As I grew older, I turned that passion into a career, studying culinary arts and opening my own restaurant—a place where every dish tells a story and celebrates the culinary traditions of the world.

Over time, I discovered the joy of creating recipes not just for the restaurant but for home cooks as well. My first book, The Essential Bread Machine Cookbook, was born from this desire: to reinvent bread recipes from around the globe, adapting them for the convenience of the bread machine and making them accessible to everyone. I truly believe bread is the heart of every kitchen—a symbol of home, sharing, and tradition.
