Born in Poland, and after the death of my mother, and abandonment by my father, I was adopted by a Polish American couple and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I faced a difficult childhood and lost contact with my family for the next 13 years. Through determination and resilience, I graduated as an honor student from West Catholic girls high school. I began my career at the United States Social Security Administration, where I worked for seven years and later had the incredible opportunity to join the United Nations. During my time there, I was blessed by Pope John Paul II and served for over 30 years in various positions. Along the way, I met and married a diplomat. Eventually, we settled in Florida, where I completed writing my book, 13 Years Lost.
