River Selby

River Selby is a writer, former wildland firefighter, and a first generation high-school and college graduate. They grew up in Washington State. River holds a BA in English and film studies from Syracuse University, where they also acquired their MFA in fiction.

River's work has been published in Bellevue Literary Review, High Country News, Vox, the New Ohio Review, and Boulevard Literary Magazine, where they won the Short Fiction Prize for Emerging Writers. They are currently pursuing their PhD in English and creative nonfiction.

Hotshot is River's first book.
