Melanie S. Williams

With the debut of this book, children’s author and visual artist Melanie S. Williams has realized a decades-long dream of writing for children. Her stories are inspired by real-life events that nurtured her kids’ sense of self￾empowerment, empathy, and curiosity while growing up. She hopes fellow parents and educators will use this book to help foster similar feelings within their own children.

Born to professional actors in Minneapolis, and coming from a long lineage of writers, performers, and artists, Melanie loves to think up fun and engaging ways to enrich the lives of children and their families.

Melanie currently lives in Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband, Kent, and their special-needs kitty, Helen. Together they raised four wonderful humans: Nick, Katie, Sydney, and Rissy—who offer endless love, inspiration, and encouragement (and tech support!). They all enjoy making time for group walks, movies, and playing board games together.
