Gary M. Saxton is a former US Army Infantry Captain who served in West Berlin, Germany during the Cold War. Following his military service, he began a decades-long career in business, landing executive roles in both public and private technology companies in Silicon Valley, and other locations in the United States and Japan. A graduate of West Point and Harvard Business School, he also trained in the martial arts, earning multiple black belts and competing at the intercollegiate level. He began his running journey as a way to address declining health and physical fitness challenges from both aging and a demanding career. His 14-year journey includes 26 ultramarathons, 8 Boston Marathons, 13 World Marathon Majors, and his 100th overall marathon on the original course in Greece.
