
Leo Jones is retired from Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office in western New York. He spent twenty-five years as a police officer. He started as a uniformed patrol officer, working his way up to Investigator, Sergeant, and then Lieutenant. Leo Jones worked undercover drug operations for several years before his promotion within the narcotics division as a Lieutenant. As the Lieutenant he commanded a federally funded multi-jurisdictional drug task force in Western New York, the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force. The drug task force received several state awards under his command. He also enjoyed teaching recruits in the regional police academy. After retiring from the Sheriff’s Office, Leo Jones worked eleven years for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He was assigned to the Transportation Security Admiration as one of the nation's first Federal Security Directors and helped secure our airports after the terrorist attacks of nine-eleven. Leo Jones has always had a dream of becoming an author and sharing his experiences in drug enforcement and is excited to publish his first novel. When he is not writing he enjoys family, friends, and riding his bike. Leo Jones and his family continue to live in Western NY.
