TJ Davis is an author, educator, and endurance athlete. He is passionate about environmental issues, civic engagement and mental health advocacy. After overcoming childhood trauma and two decades of addiction, he rebuilt his life through 12-step programs, therapy, psychiatric care, and a deep love for nature, ultramarathons, and triathlons. A dedicated endurance athlete, he has completed 15 Ironman triathlons, over 70 ultramarathons, and hundreds of other races. An avid traveler and national park enthusiast, TJ has visited 43 of the 63 U.S. national parks and aims to see them all. He shares his expertise through National & State Park Travel Itineraries and his memoir, TRIPOLAR: The Story of a Bipolar Triathlete, chronicling his path from addiction to recovery. By day, TJ teaches high school in downtown Los Angeles. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California and a Master’s in Education from Grand Canyon University. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife of over 27 years and their three children.
