Alexa Communications

Alexa keeps you connected with friends and family whether you’re having a long catch-up or sharing a quick update. Voice and video calling allow you to easily stay in touch with those who matter most. You can also use Alexa as an intercom to drop in and let everyone know dinner is ready, or make an Announcement to remind the kids that it’s bedtime.

Call your favorite people, hands-free

With Alexa, you can make hands-free voice or video calls to anyone who has a supported Alexa-enabled device or the Alexa app. On Alexa-enabled devices, you can even use services like Zoom, Chime and Skype. Call up to 10 phone numbers in the US/UK/CA/MX (emergency numbers are not supported).

Add some fun to your next call with animated reactions, like hearts, laughs, or confetti. Or, use in-call effects to appear in street art, a classic painting, and more.

Group calling lets you connect with multiple people at once. You can easily create and name groups in the Alexa app.

If you have an eligible AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon plan, you can link your mobile number to make and receive calls on an Alexa-enabled device.

Keep everyone in sync

Use Drop In to instantly check-in with others in your household. Make Drop In simple for the whole family by picking easy to remember device names like ‘kitchen’ or ‘living room.’ You can also drop in with close contacts on their Alexa-enabled devices.

Announcements allow you to broadcast a voice message on multiple Alexa-enabled devices. Call everyone to the table, or use the Alexa app to say:
“Alexa, announce I'm on my way home.”
You can even use Announcements as part of an Alexa Routine to keep your kids on schedule or remind them of their chores.

Care from anywhere

Set up permissions for Drop In to instantly connect to your loved one’s Alexa-enabled device, no matter where they are.

If you or a loved one are in need of assistance, you can say:
“Alexa, call for help.”
Alexa will call and text your designated emergency contact.
